Operation and services of the Library Supply Service System

The II. At the end of 2012, Rákóczi Ferenc Library signed agreements with 297 settlements. Since then, the number of settlements has been steadily increasing, with more and more municipalities providing library services within the framework of the KSZR. On 1 January 2025, there is a valid agreement with 332 municipalities for the use of library services, which is performed in a territorial referent system, under the direct management of the Territorial Supply Department.

The II. As a state task, Ferenc Rákóczi Library provides the following services at the library, information and community places of the settlements concluded by the agreement:

Document service

  • It regularly increases the library stock of the service centre through the assistance of a service provider designated by the Municipality (book, periodicals, DVD, audiobook) from the small-town library support of the central budget.
  • Taking into account the possibilities, it will procure and process the justified individual growth needs from the person performing the service as a matter of priority.
  • The public library stock of the service provider shall be registered uniformly in its computer database. The new documents are delivered quarterly to the service facility, prepared and equipped for library use (store mark, barcode).
  • It provides access to the services of the National Document Supply System (ODR) and fulfills the requests of users through interlibrary lending if the requested library document or information cannot be found in the local collection. To this end, it provides free document circulation by means of a ‘Reply’ service.
  • According to the needs of the inhabitants of the settlement, every year he subscribes to newspapers and periodicals, which he places at the library service place.

In the context of the provision of information

  • It provides information on the entire library stock of the library service provider in the web catalogue available on the Internet.
  • It provides the possibility to use the database that reveals the files of the county library.
  • Provides information on the services of the national library system and ODR to the service provider.
  • Contribute to the execution of requests for specific information.
  • As part of further training, it will facilitate the introduction of a service for the use of electronic libraries and documents accessible in electronic form.
  • It helps to make the services of the MaNDA, NAVA point available and to introduce the service enabling their use.
  • By sharing digital content, it makes local public domains, cultural goods and electronic local history documents accessible.

As part of a computer service

  • In the unified integrated library system of the library (Corvina), it connects the service place of the settlement.
  • It provides storage space on its server for the library stock register of the service provider and the data of the readers' register.
  • It ensures the operation of the rental module and the personal data recording on site.
  • It provides access to electronic catalogues and provides training in their use.
  • The development and modernisation of the system providing electronic services also extends to the system use of the service centre.
  • Operate remote monitoring and IT tools (virus protection, network, software) necessary for safe operation.

In the framework of community services

  • Involve the users of the service centre in the children's and adult library events in the county.
  • It helps to organize local programs by offering programs for children and adults, organizing them and providing them with financial coverage.
  • According to the needs of the settlements, the invited guests (writers, artists, lecturers), the staff of the county and city library will hold lectures, handicrafts and library presentations, and reading promotional games for those interested.
  • His colleagues facilitate joining reading promotion programs, organize county-level competitions and quizzes.

In the framework of training

  • It provides professional assistance and further training for the librarian of the service centre.
  • With professional advice, he helps to develop and expand the services of the library service centre.
  • It provides professional advice for the development of a unified image of the library service centre.

In the framework of optional services

  • It provides professional assistance to the Municipality for the preparation of tenders concerning the modernisation and expansion of library services.
  • The library stock of the settlement is selected according to professional criteria, and a modern, usable collection of local documents is developed, adapted to the needs of the settlement.
  • According to the annual plans, the stock at the service station is processed retrospectively in the county's common database, equipped with a barcode, and made suitable for the introduction of electronic lending.
  • In order to ensure the storage order of the library documents, it performs the uniform installation of the documents.
  • He produces informative inscriptions on the shelves, the library and the building.
  • In the event of a change in the identity of the librarian, the librarian employed at the service provider's premises, the librarian shall carry out an exceptional file check.
